A separate residential building positioned within a landscaped part of the estate.
A conservation-led estate masterplan combining the restoration of a Grade II listed country house with carefully designed contemporary additions and new estate facilities.

The masterplan brings together the overhaul and extension of Stourton House, a contemporary glazed link, replacement swimming pool building, staff accommodation, tennis-court refurbishment and a six-bay stable building.
A redesigned drive, new arrival sequence and landscape structure connect the historic house with new buildings while retaining the estate's mature parkland character.

A separate residential building positioned within a landscaped part of the estate.
Comprehensive repair, restoration and sensitive extensions to the listed principal house.
A replacement leisure building designed as a high-quality estate intervention.
A glazed connection providing a clear architectural distinction between historic and new fabric.
Overhaul of the existing court within its established landscape enclosure.
A six-bay stable complex with dedicated access, parking and landscape integration.
To establish a long-term programme for the repair and future use of Stourton House and its estate, allowing urgent conservation work and contemporary living requirements to be addressed within a single strategic framework.
The project must balance the significance and fabric of the Grade II listed house with modern accommodation, leisure, servicing, access and estate-management requirements.
CJZ's approach is conservation-led and phased: understand significance, establish repair priorities, engage early with the conservation authority and design new interventions that are clearly contemporary yet subordinate to the historic asset.
The masterplan proposes a more organic estate drive, structured planting, separate access to the stable complex and carefully positioned buildings that maintain views and the parkland character of the site.
The project is presented as an evolving estate strategy. Final designs, permissions and delivery phases remain subject to specialist surveys, consultation and statutory approvals.
